A J G MUSIC is a professional mobile Disc Jockey & Emcee service owned & operated by A.J. Grossman. A.J. has been in the DJ business since 1990 and had his own company since 1994. He became interested in the business after seeing a DJ working in a local nightclub. He would get his early experience working for that Ft. Lauderdale area DJ. He got into the business because it seemed like a fun way to make some extra income. People hire a DJ because they’re having a party & want it to be fun. Seeing guests have fun, is what his job is about.

As a musician in high school & college in the early & mid 1970’s, A.J. has been exposed to a wide variety of music genres. He started as a music major in college, then switched to business. His business background is in sales and management. His basic business philosophy has & always will be, "It’s not rocket science, just give the customer what they want. "Meet & exceed their expectations!"

A.J. is capable of providing music & emcee services for any type of event, inside or out of doors. In a typical year he does 20-25 weddings, numerous corporate & private picnics, birthday parties, Bar & Bat Mitzvah’s and other events as well. He has worked a variety of local neighborhood bars and dance clubs. There, his skills doing in-house promotions is excellent. On most of his jobs, he is assisted by his wife - "The worlds cheapest roadie; Jeannie". She is also his assistant DJ. So when you book A J G Music, you actually get 2 people working for you.

A.J. has over 1000 CDs & travels with approximately 600. As his playlist will attest, he has the full spectrum of music styles amply covered. His knowledge of the various genres is unparalleled. New music is added monthly via several professional music subscriptions. He receives the hits, just as the radio is getting them on the air.

As a child of the 60’s & 70’s, A.J. grew up listening to early rock & roll, the hard rock of the 70’s, disco, early country, & the Motown sound. He also followed the pop sounds of the 80’s. When he became a DJ, he stayed & continues to stay on top of all the current styles of music. When it comes to selecting music, he is firm about keeping his own tastes out of it. That is a mistake made by many younger and wannabe DJ’s. A.J. always asks for requests from the audience. He believes the best way to know what the crowd wants is to ask them for requests. Again, a simple but effective philosophy.

A.J uses professional travel and durable sound equipment. In the past 2 years he has invested several thousand dollars updating his sound system. His sound can fill a room of 1000 or be subtle enough for a living room of 25 people. A.J. DOES know how to control the volume of the music.
